Measurement of oil and fats

Many governmental agriculture departments set standards for refractive index of crude plant fat and edible vegetable oils and fats ( soybean oil, olive oil ). Measurement at 25°C is defined in the Japanese Agricultural Standards, but rough measurements are made in the field with hand-held refractometers, as well.
