私の仕事

My role

私は製品の開発業務に携わっています。 主に光を用いた新規製品の開発を行っており、実験を通して計測原理の検証を行っています。 またCADツールを用いた光学系や内部機構の設計、筐体(きょうたい)設計、製品に使用する部品の選定などを行っています。 さらに製品立ち上げの際には、製造部門への量産移行なども行います。

開発業務において、製品技術は開発過程の中で日々徐々に向上していくというわけではなく、ある瞬間に飛躍的にステップアップする場合がほとんどです。 以前私は、液晶の駆動方法の検討を行っていたことがありますが、液晶を扱い始めた当初はなかなか思い通りに動作させることができず、四苦八苦していました。 しかしある時、試行錯誤の末にある条件にて液晶を動作させたところ飛躍的に特性が改善される結果が得られました。 その瞬間、これはお客さんにも喜んでもらえる製品につながる!と強い喜びを感じたのを覚えています。 そういったステップアップの瞬間を得るのが開発という仕事の醍醐味だと感じています。 開発の仕事の中では様々な課題が生じますが、新しい製品を実現させるためには、必ずそれを解決できると強く信じ、常に貪欲にチャレンジすることが大切だと思っています。

アタゴは部署間の距離がとても近い会社だと感じています。 製品開発で試作を行う必要がある場合には工場に製作をお願いしたり、新規製品の立ち上げの際には部品購入に資材担当の協力が必要だったり、製造部で量産体制を整えてもらったり、製品の品質評価を依頼したりしなければならないなど、業務の中で他部署に協力をお願いしなければならないことが非常にたくさんあります。 そんな時はどの部署の方も非常に快く積極的に応じてくれますし、時には綿密な相談の機会を作ってもらったりしています。 アタゴにおいて他部署との関わり合いは、業務を依頼する関係というよりも、業務をともに共有する関係、という印象が強いです。

営業部 販売促進課に所属しております。 製品の拡販、市場が求めている製品の情報収集、展示会への出展、商社への製品講習会などを行なっています。

アタゴ製品は糖度計としてテレビに取り上げて頂くことも多くあるため、食品分野でしか扱われていないと思われがちですが、糖度計の他に濃度計、粘度計、塩分計、旋光計、尿比重計など分野別に多数の製品があります。ですので、取引先などにそういった先入観を取り除いてもらうよう注意してます。 また、自分が営業において成功したこと失敗したことを部署内で共有化するように心がけています。

アタゴという会社の席位置は驚くことにバラバラです。 本社には営業部、開発部、マーケティング部、メディア部、他多数の部署があります。 部署が纏まって座っているのではなく、前、横、後と他部署の方が座っています。そのためのコミュニケーションがとりやすく他部署間での情報確認がとても行ないやすい雰囲気です。 本社以外も関西支店・九州支店があり、情報交換を行なうことによって、他県の工場情報を共有化し、水平展開を行なってます。 私は野球部に所属してます。総勢20名で年に2回、軽井沢で合宿を行ってます。スポーツをすることで、より良い関係性が築きあげられていると感じます。

営業部 販売促進課に所属しています。週の大半は社外で営業活動に取り組んでおり、主に既存ユーザー様・新規ユーザー様へ製品の販促を行っています。また、お客様のお声を社内に持ち帰り、製品やサービスの向上に繋げるのも営業の仕事だと考えております。

アタゴのお客様には食品会社様以外にも、工業系の会社様や理化学系の会社様など、異なる業種の会社様が多種多様でいらっしゃいます。
また、同じ業界の会社様でも、測定サンプルや測定の用途は大きく異なります。その為、毎日の営業活動の中で新しい発見や気付きが尽きません。常に新しい出来事に出会えるのは営業の醍醐味であり、やりがいにつながると考えています。

営業担当としてお客様の様々なご要望にお応えするよう努め、結果としてお褒めの言葉を頂いたり、成果につながった時には特にやりがいを感じます。
また、当社の製品は食品や工業・医療等、多岐にわたる分野においてご使用頂いているため、生活する様々な場面で役に立っていることを実感できます。消費者の目には見えない部分で世の中を支えている仕事は自慢であり、誇りを持って取り組んでいます。

年齢を問わず、社会に出た早い段階から会社にとって重要な仕事に挑戦することができます。現在の業務であるECサイトの管理では、営業部以外の部署とも打合せをしながら進めていますが、部署間の壁を感じたことは一度もありません。部署間での質問や意見が飛び交う環境なので、会社一丸となって業務に取り組んでいることを実感できます。
休みの日には、部活動や社員旅行など親睦を深めるイベントが用意されているため、社員同士の仲が良い事も1つの特徴です(勿論強制ではありません)。オンとオフの切り替えがしっかりしていて、裁量を持って働くことのできる会社です。

My role

海外部に所属し、中東・アフリカ・オセアニア地域の営業を担当しています。
各国の現地代理店への情報発信や、新規代理店獲得、ユーザー直販のために電話やメールで日々営業活動をしています。
具体的に一部ご紹介すると、イラクの飲料業界へ屈折計販促推進のために代理店とスカイプミーティング、コンゴのジャムメーカーに粘度計の紹介のため電話、ニュージーランドのマヌカハニーの生産者からのはちみつ水分計についての問い合わせ対応などがあります。
社内での仕事が多いですが、展示会出展や代理店訪問のために海外出張の機会もあります。

アタゴの製品は世界150か国以上に販売実績があるため、名前も知らなかった国のお客様とやり取りすることもあります。このような経験はこの会社に入らなければ得られなかったと日々感じて感謝しています。
また、月間の売上目標金額に向けて、部署だけではなく会社全体で協力することで目標を成し遂げたときの達成感は他では味わえないと確信します。
売上目標金額は毎年高まりますが、アタゴの製品は幅広い業界で使用されるので、もっと売れる!というポテンシャルが尽きず、常にやりがいをもって仕事ができます。

毎週行われる各部署のミーティングには社長も参加されるため、業務においてのアドバイスやフィードバックをもらい、相談しながら進められる環境が備わっています。

My role

マーケティングや開発調査、製品の仕様に関する書類の作成などをしています。マーケティングの仕事では、ユーザー様へ打電・訪問をし要望を吸い上げたり、まだ着手できていない市場の調査をしたりしています。開発や仕様改善のため調査もおこなっており、いろいろな分野のサンプルを用いて実験をし製品開発に繋げています。

ユーザー様へのヒアリングを通じて、ご使用いただいている方の生の声を聞けることにやりがいを覚えます。商品開発や日々の品質管理で重宝してくださっていると聞くと、お客様の事業に寄り添っていると思えて嬉しいです。

経理・総務業務をしています。
主な仕事内容はお金の流れを管理し、売上・入出金確認、経費精算、総務業務として社内清掃や社内書類整備などを行っています。

総務部は各部署のサポート的存在でもあり、社員の皆さんが働きやすい環境を作れるよう、「広く、浅く」ではなく、「広く、深く」業務に携わっていることを日頃から意識するよう心がけています。
また、会社のお金を管理する唯一の部署なので、扱う金額が大きければ、わずかなミスが大きな損害につながってしまうこともあります。そのため、求められるのは1円の誤差も出さない正確さです。習慣化している業務でも気を抜かないよう取り組んでいます。
業務によっては大まかに日々、1ヶ月ごと、1年ごとと決まっており、基本的には同じことを繰り返す淡々とした業務サイクルかと捉えがちですが、そこから業務効率化を目指しスムーズな仕事が実現したときは、達成感を感じました。

My role

総務部に所属しており、主に総務・経理の仕事を担当しています。
経理では数字やお金に関する業務、総務では書類等の作成から社内美化等様々な業務に取り組んでいます。

まず経理業務ですが、お金や数字に関係するものがほとんどなので、常に正確性を重視しています。
総務の仕事ではたくさんの業務があり、それぞれに臨機応変に対応していくことが大切だと思っています。そのため、1つの業務を様々な業務に結び付けて考えたり、それぞれを深く理解するよう気を付けています。
業務の内容はとても幅が広く、大変だと感じる時もありますが、その分とてもやりがいがあり、やり遂げた時の達成感は大きいものだと感じています。
また私は、普段総務の部屋にいることが多いのですが、少しの時間でも皆さんとコミュニケーションをとれるよう、廊下やフロアですれ違った際などに挨拶を欠かさないよう心がけています。

My role

私の仕事はお客様がご使用されている製品に、万が一不具合が起きてしまった時のサポートが主な仕事です。 修理品をお預かりし、いち早く原因を究明しお客さまに説明を差し上げた後、修理を実施致します。 同じ内容の修理があった際は、工場内に情報発信し、製品品質の向上や開発製品の改良点につながる役割を担っています。

仕事で印象に残っていることは、製品の故障原因を自分でつきとめたことです。 過去に生産され、今は生産中止になっている製品でも修理サポートを行う場合があります。 過去に作られた製品に触れ、今と昔の製品を見比べて、今の製品がどのように改良されているのかを知ることは、修理を行う上で知識を得られる魅力になっています。 私の仕事の中で一番力を入れている事は、しっかり原因を特定し真因をつきとめ、頻繁に発生する故障内容をデータにまとめ、各職場の垣根を超え情報を発信し、共有化に努める事です。 これにより、製品の改善や改良、品質向上につながれば良いと考えています。

深谷工場内は壁でセパレートされておらず、他部署の人と顔を合わせながら仕事をしています。 人の顔をがよく見える事で、気軽にコミュニケーションが取れ明るい職場環境になっております。 社内の食堂は決められた席はなく、くじ引きで決められます。仕事の中であまり顔を合わせない部署の方ともコミュニケーションを取ることができ、色々な発見があります。 この様な環境だからこそ、困った時にはお互いに手を差し伸べる事ができる、良い関係性を持った職場になっていると感じています。

新製品などの妥当性評価、製品の検査や校正に関する業務、測定器の校正及び管理、ISO事務局、さらなる品質向上に向けた各種改善、など品質保証に関する業務を担当しています。 その中で、お客様からどんなニーズが出てくるか予測することも重要です。良い緊張感を持って業務に取り組めるため、時間の経過がとても早く感じます。

PAL-SALTなど新しい塩分計発売までの取り組みは、強く印象に残っています。 難題解決に向け部門を越えて協力し、苦労の末に自信を持ってお客様に勧められる製品が完成したことは、大きな達成感にもなりました。 お客様に喜んで頂ける製品を世に出すには、たとえ困難な状況でも安易に妥協せず粘り強く取り組むしかありません。 そんな時、見落とした問題点や斬新な発想などを引き出すためにも、考えを積極的に発言したくなるような職場の雰囲気作りを大切にしています。また、部員の得意分野を伸ばす過程で、積み上がる実績が達成感に繋がるよう心がけています。

私の所属している製造2部は、アタゴが製造販売している製品の組立を行っています。 主に携わっているのは、手持屈折計で色々な部品を取付けて真心を込めて作っています。

手持屈折計は主力製品のため、年間沢山の方々に使用して頂いています。作業の習熟・時間の短縮が常に求められる仕事です。 今までの経験で培った改善が発揮でき、すぐ効果も見えるためやりがいを日々感じています。 製造2部に所属している事で、製品への理解を深める事はもちろん作業効率のアップ、出来高向上に繋がる事を考えながら仕事に取り組むよう心がけています。

私の所属している製造1部機械課では、アタゴ製品に使用されている部品や開発製品の試作、治工具等の機械部品をNC旋盤、マシニングセンタなどを使用し加工を行っています。 主に携わっている仕事は、NC旋盤を使用しての機械加工です。指定された図面の形状に加工する為、刃具を選定し、その刃具を考えた通りに動かす為の加工プログラム作成、そして機械段取りから加工、検査等、材料から様々な形状に加工していく一連の作業をしています。また、更なる生産性向上に向けた改善活動なども行っています。

開発製品の試作部品では、加工が大変な材質や形状等、様々な難題にぶつかることがあります。 机上で最善の加工プログラムを作成し、いざ機械に向かい、段取り、加工を行う。うまく行かない。ここで機械と向き合いながら五感をきかせ、経験値をフル活用し、試行錯誤を行う。やっと納得したものが出来る。こんな時は苦労に見合った最高の達成感、新たな経験を得られます。 そして、自分で加工したものが製品に組み込まれ、機能しているのを見るのも大きな喜びです。 品質はもちろんのこと、生産性向上に向けての取り組みなど、常にスピード感を持ち、何事にもチャレンジし、向上心を持ち続けることを心掛けています。

工場内は色が統一され、さらに機械設備も同色に塗装され、一見、機械加工の作業場とは見えません。そのおかげで、気持ちが落ち着き、仕事に集中することが出来る環境です。 また、部署間の距離が近く、皆協力的な為、疑問に思ったこともすぐに相談することが出来る雰囲気であることも大きな強みです。 クラブ活動や昼食時、又はイベントなど、他部署の人達との交流の場がある事も、仕事のし易さに繋がっていると感じます。

My role

製造2部 2チーム・4チームのリーダーを担当しており、日々の進捗管理を行っています。
また、Palette・PAL-光センサーの製造にも携わっております。

醍醐味・やりがい

担当している製品を製造しながら、リーダー業務を行っている為手が離れる事が多く品質に関して抜けがないよう、部品の員数確認・指差し確認などしっかり行っています。製造2部では、生産効率を上げる為、多能工を行っていますが、誰がどの製品を作っても同じ品質・同じ作業効率で生産が出来る様日々の作業では改善を意識し、仕事を行っています。
また、製造2部以外でも機械課・光学課・実装課・成型課などがあり、自社で作成している部品が多く、製造現場での不具合対応、部品の修正、治具依頼など迅速に行える事はとても強みだと感じています。

私の仕事

My role

基板実装課にて、プリント基板にチップ部品を実装する、自動実装機のオペレーターをしています。
主な仕事は、装置稼働の段取りや、装置へのチップ部品の補充などです。また、実装済みの基板に不具合が無いか、自動検査機で確認もしています。

基板実装課では、アタゴ製品で使用されている、ほぼ全ての基板を製造しています。基板や部品は様々な色や形状なので、実装機の最適な設定が基板や部品ごとに異なります。
チップ部品は、1個でも誤って実装してしまうと、製品になった際に正常な動作をしません。その為、機械が正常に動いているか、適切な設定で実装されているか、常に確認しながら生産します。
実装機のオペレーションはとても奥深いですが、先輩方から色々な知識を吸収し、自分ができる事が増えていくことに、大きなやりがいを感じています。

入社3ヵ月、つい先日まで高校生だった自分が、見たこともなかった機械操作を担当することになり、最初は不安もありました。しかし、先輩や上司に相談しやすい雰囲気の中で様々な知識を吸収し、機械操作もスムーズに習得しています。また、他部署との距離感がとても近く、部署を越え連携しながら課題に取り組む環境は、仕事への意欲にもつながっています。

アタゴ製品を作るための部品手配、生産スケジュールに合わせた納期確認、ピッキング作業、など部品の入出庫管理が 主な業務です。これらの業務を円滑に進める上で、仕入部門や製造部門など、他部署との連携が重要です。

部品管理は、会社の資産にあたる部品の動きを把握し、その過不足など明確にする重要な業務です。
多種多様な部品が、様々な人の手によって、沢山の工程を経て部品棚に入庫された後、アタゴ製品として組み立てられるために出庫されています。アタゴ製品をご購入いただくお客様をお待たせしないよう、次工程はお客様という気持ちで、納期厳守に努めています。そこに携わる事に緊張感を感じますが、大きなやりがいも感じています。

ガラス張りの工場内は、壁が無く荒川の景色が見える、とても風通しの良い環境です。
また、気が利く対応をして頂いた人に発行する「気が利くねカード」や、何か相談したいときに発行する 「相談しようカード」の活用は、協力体制で仕事を進める事にもつながっています。
残業ゼロで定時帰宅が会社の方針なので、私のように小さい子供がいる人も働きやすいです。

プロバイダー部で、主に部品の手配、検品、製造部に払出をする部品のピッキングを行っています。
また、業者様と品質、納期交渉等も行っています。社内・社外問わず、常に相談と連携を意識することが、仕事を円滑にするポイントです。

醍醐味・やりがい

部品一点一点、大切な資産であることを意識し、アタゴ製品に使用される部品の全てを管理しています。約5千点もの部品を、生産に支障が出ないように在庫・品質管理をする事は、とてもやりがいがあります。
検品業務では、お客様が製品を手にした瞬間を思い浮かべながら、キズや打痕などの不具合が無いことを確認します。また、協力業者様の現場を見る機会も頂き、工程、処理内容など理解する事ができた時は、とても面白く感じます。

My role

営業部修理課で、国内・海外問わず、修理品の受付、所見、見積り、修理までの一連の業務を行っています。 主にハイエンド製品を担当し、製造部でモノづくりに取り組んだ経験も生かして、適切な判断と正確な修理を心掛けています。
修理品返却時には、お客様に末長く気持ち良くご愛用頂けるよう、綺麗な状態にする事も意識しています。

ある時、装置温度の上昇が影響して、測定値がドリフトしてしまう問題が発生しました。この課題に対し、部内の仲間や部品メーカーに相談しながら対策案を上げていき、試行錯誤を繰り返す事でようやく安定した測定値を得られるようになりました。このように発生した課題と向き合う事を通して、関連する分野の知見を深め、エンジニアとしての成長を感じる事ができます。また、苦労を重ねた分、製品発売を迎える瞬間は、この上ない達成感を味わうことができます。

My Role

My position is Assistant Supervisor North America Division. My main focus is to prospect sales from both current and new companies and industries, while maintaining good relationships with current customers. This is done through activities such as attending tradeshows, in and out of state roving sales, daily phone calls, and information emails. Apart from this, I am also responsible for supporting my department with supervisor activities and on job training to new department members.

2. What are your memorable moments from work, focus on your job, and what do you pay attention the most in your job?

My Job

My most memorable and favorite moments with ATAGO have been going to tradeshows and roving sales to visit customers. It is eye-opening to see how ATAGO equipment help people every day and to be able to talk face to face with people who are interested in learning about our equipment. I focus on using these experiences to help other representatives at ATAGO learn more about applications, and also to be able to educate and secure sales from new customers.

3. What do you like about ATAGO? (office atmosphere, co-workers and environment)

Company

I especially like ATAGO USA's mixed culture and respect the good work ethic my coworkers have despite us being a smaller company. Everyone is willing to share information across departments and it helps us communicate effectively. My Role

Sales representative on the Latin America department. Prospect via telephone and email with potential and current ATAGO users to promote our instruments on different industries.
Assisting to our distributors and end users on L.A region for quotations, dispatching and questions about our models, traveling to different L.A. countries attending tradeshow and conducting product demonstration to clients on different industries. This is a great opportunity for that end users in Latin America to know more about our technology and how they can improve quality control process to always offer quality products to their customers. And for me on learn more about industries, production process, culture because each country has their own and of course open my mind when I offer our instruments because every customer can use our great products.

2. What is your memorable moments through your work, focus on your job, what do you pay attention the most in your job?

My Job

Be able to make that our customers know more about ATAGO new technology, quality and reliability on use. Many customers still think about ATAGO as analog refractometers and they are surprise when discover our new models and features like NFC.
I had the opportunity to attend to a wine trade show in Argentina where end users were amazed with ATAGO non-destructive technology on PAL-HIKARi2, this was a great opportunity for me to learn about wine industry and how ATAGO can improve quality process on industry.

We have a small office so environment is great because it's make possible to know each other well, everybody is professional and with great sense of responsibility. I am always available to guide, train my juniors. I enjoy my job as it consists of travel at least 4-5 days outside office to various locations within state with every time new people.

2. Please describe the most impressive thing you have ever had in your working experience.

It is a challenge for every sales person to pitch his very new product and convince to buy it in the price conscious market.

In India Sugar factories are located in very remote places, where reaching itself is a challenge due to bad infrastructure. Sugar factories tend to have low budget to buy new instruments. Until and unless you don't give successful demonstration along with customer list they will not go for new instruments. When I visited the first time a sugar factory in Maharastra state along with just launched RePo unit, I tried to turn their interest into inquiry. They were using cheap quality local make analog Polarimeter and brix meter and trust on result from it. It was challenge to convert their fear of instrument's performance into confidence. I had given them successful demo. I explain each and every technical things ,ease of operation and convenience of our instrument. The technical person then understood benefits of using digital (RePo) over analogue instrument. The then he arrange meeting with Plant head. After very hard negotiation I manage to close this order with two numbers. As a formality, getting actual Purchase Order then follow up for payment with different department like Purchase and Account was tough job for me. In all this process I struggle on every stage to get PO.

I always assume customer need as a emergency and accordingly try to give prompt reply or solution to the customer's mails, calls or query.

In 2016 one Government organization conducted a open tender for Refractometer ,where we were technically qualified but due to some bad practice and they rejected us while we gave successful demonstration of our product this happens in the month of Feb 2017,but as we all knows that every sales person should always open his ears and eyes while doing sales, we put strong objection in front of the higher authority where that takes action against the people involved in this conspiracy and it was retender, and I am glad to tell that this year we came over of all our competitors in March 2018 we won that tender for Refractometer by fighting hard.

Adhering to the customer supreme service idea although that is 12:00AM in China's time, I explained the detail of cleaning and calibration steps and provide a perfect guide to complete measurement that made him with satisfaction and surprise. On October 12, 2012, there is a CM-780N in Zhengzhou Foxconn was malfunctioned, the cutting fluid was added anti-foam to avoid the blister, but the measurement was still unstable, and the client request for return. By careful evaluation, the following solutions are presented to the client:
1. Add a small secondary buffer tank to the lower side of the equipment, keep soaking the instrument probe in the cutting fluid for 3 days in ATAGO CHINA'S Office, and find no oil film was appeared.
2. A portion of the oil film will appear with some types of cutting fluid, we suggest them to add a wiper cleaning device , and the unstable problem was solved finally.
In this case I realized that" All difficulties are also paper tigers"

The most impressive and unexpected situation I've had in my working experience happened on my first day. I had a call from customer who already bought polarimeter SAC-i and asked what is made for and how to use it. To tell the truth, I was a little bit confused for a second.

My main goal as an ATAGO worker is to help optimize manufacturing process in Russian companies and increase the quality of products with ATAGO devices.

I am working at YOROZU department. “YOROZU” means all kind of things. I get to visit ATAGO factory in Saitama and HQ in Tokyo. It was the most beautiful and clean facility I’ve ever been to. I was able to receive training from QA department. 1. I’m a Service Technician at ATAGO USA. My role is to ensure customers’ instruments are working properly. I am in charge of inspecting, calibrating, repairing, and providing feedback to customers on how to take care better care of their products in case an issue arises.

2. What are your memorable moments from work, focus on your job, and what do you pay attention the most in your job?

My Job

a. Most memorable moments are when customers send us emails and provide feedback mentioning how great of an experience it was working with us. As a service technician there’s always a huge sense of responsibility since customers are trusting me with their quality control instruments. It can be a lot of pressure at times, but it always makes me feel great when customers show their gratitude and their positive feelings towards the quality of service we provide.
I enjoy paying attention to the little details that would normally go unnoticed.

Company

a. Interaction between co-workers and managers. While some companies may have communication issues, here at ATAGO USA we can freely discuss business matters to obtain a prompt response or tackle an emerging issue. Everyone shares beneficial information that helps us grow together as a company and there’s transparency between departments.

1. What are your daily activities at ATAGO?

My Role

Once I come to the office I quickly review my emails from the day before and morning emails, if I have an email that needs to be responded right away I do it, later I start contacting customers to promote our instruments. Every day I contact my distributors to see if they are working in something new, this always help to close sale because you can offer manufacture support with end users, this will give more confidence to the end user when he have to make a decision.

For my day to day sales activities I focus in calling at least 40 customers a day, this will help you to plant seeds for future sales, this always will lead you to sales because maybe when you contact a customer they don’t need anything but in the future they will and they will remember you.

As a Latin America sales rep I contact customer for different countries, but my focus are Mexico, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Chile, one of my biggest challenges its use wisely my time to contact customer, as are in different time zones sometimes its hard to get in contact with them.

2. What are your memorable moments from work, focus on your job, and what do you pay attention the most in your job?

My Job

I would like to pay attention to details in my paper works every time we process. This includes what instruments customer purchased and trying to find out the reason because we can find out more chance to sell different models and new application from our customers.

My memorable moments from work is satisfaction I have when I hit my monthly sales target and feeling that I am contributing to the company. I always like to hit my target that makes me feel that all of my hard work that I put in my sales calling bear fruit.

Company

What I love about ATAGO is the atmosphere in the office. We all get along really well and we are like a small family. I also appreciate our company events because I feel the company shows us gratitude to us of our daily efforts in the office. There are many tasks in admin, and I think it is important to respond to each case in a flexible and timely manner. As Admin, I try to support other departments as much as possible.

The Most Impressive Thing I ever had in ATAGO, we demoed VISCO at one of the major private dairy at Salem, Tamilnadu. The samples were ice cream mix & chocolate mix. Also in contention were other competitors. There was a major technical debate among us. But due to our consistency in reading & lesser sample quantity with sophisticated technology we received order on same day.

3. What do you mostly care in your daily work?

Daily Work

Checking & replying customer’s enquiries, case to case periodic follow-up for & payment follow-up.
Also product promotion to new customers, fixing appointment for demo/discussions, service/installation visit for high end models & also attending government tenders during technical/commercial stages are part of my job.

Company

I’m working for 5 years in ATAGO INDIA. Everyday I’m learning new applications & technology while discussing with customers (small to high). I sincerely thank our ATAGO INDIA Head office for giving me a wonderful opportunity and friendly support like a family. Here, there is no senior/junior bias. During our all India meeting our HO gathers all our views and perspectives in an equal way.

My Job

As a Sr. Engineer – Sales & Technical Service, I am looking after the Sales & Marketing in the Western India. My main responsibility is to explore new area, applications and to find out new potential customers and also expand our existing customer base. I also try to be in contact with our existing users to understand their changing needs and offer them suitable solutions. Towards technical side I offer online and offline technical support to our customers along with installation at customer sites. I handle certain Key customers to offer them quick and prompt service.

2. Please describe the most impressive thing you have ever had in your working experience.

Experience

It was in 2017; when we received a new inquiry from a Fertilizers manufacturer which was setting up there new plant in Gujarat. After much technical discussion I got opportunity to conduct a demo of RX-7000i at their site. As a general practice I asked about their product properties from which I understood that most of their samples were highly acidic in nature of 2.0 pH and I told them that our instruments sample stage is of Stainless steel which may get damaged to due high acidity of samples and can further damage the instrument. After getting the exact pH values of their multiple samples and discussion with our Technical team I proposed them that the sample stage can be coated with a specific material which will resist such high acidity of their samples to increase the instrument life but the instrument cost will be increased. During this time frame our competitor offered their regular model at lesser price trying to convince the end user that no coating is required. However, with my consistent efforts to make the customer understand the need of coated sample stage I was able to convince the customer to go for ATAGO with PTFE stage coating for longer life of instrument.

I always try to learn new things from my seniors and co-workers whether it is related to technical aspect or about sales and marketing tricks and tips. Seniors have always been an inspiration to me and I try to utilize their knowledge and experience which always helps me to upgrade my skills to perform by responsibilities more efficiently. As a part of one team I always try to support my teammates whenever they are in difficulty and also to their general queries about our products and application.

2. What are your memorable moments from work, focus on your job, and what do you pay attention the most in your job?

My memorable moments in ATAGO are to share the knowledge and my work experience with the people working in my team. I am more focused during preparing government tenders, which are extremely tedious so that we can beat our competitors and get the order.

My memorable moments are when we get selected in technical bid in a tender. It shows my attention to detail in document preparation. Several times, our rivals get rejected due to technical incompetence. It gives me great pride in saying that ATAGO’s bids never get rejected in technical stages.

Experience

The most impressive thing which I had with Inline Brix monitor (CM-800Alpha). I visited one of the most reputed company’s R&D plant based in HYDERABAD where they were using Brix Hydrometer. I understood their difficulty in taking readings in short period with good accuracy. Then I approached with our Inline Brix monitor (CM-800Alpha), they were impressed with our model and accuracy. Started with 1no’, within span of two years, they purchased 8no’s of CM-800Alpha for a single plant and made their R&D plant with complete automation by making our instrument as a heart of their whole process.

There are many impressive things but most remembered is whenever an ATAGO’s product has won over the competitor’s one. I have several times recommended cross-selling ATAGO Products to many of our key clients. Because of my experience of over 20 years, many customers talk to me when they switch companies. I help close many clients by directing them to the sales team.

In my memory, there is one our existing customer, He changed to buy the instrument from our competitor. Anyway I still always support them our best including help them resolve our broken existing instrument, training their staff to operate and do maintenance and find the solution to solve the problem about their application. Finally they believe in our instrument and our service. They came back to be our royalty customer and continue buying our instrument. I always pay attention to our customers are satisfied with the products and services of our company.

记得2018年底天津一客户采购全自动折光仪,邀请了好几个品牌一起参加了采购竞标,最后客户选择了最贵的产品,觉得越贵越好;结果6个月后客户又采购了我们产品,感觉我们产品操作简便皮实耐用最适合工厂,当时选用的其他品牌产品故障率高使用很不方便;通过这个事也让客户认识到了ATAGO产品的性价比及实用性,更坚定了我们对自已产品的品质的信心。

④协助市场部完成产品的推广以及各种展会的工作。

2. 工作时印象最深的事以及自己在工作上最留心的事

2016年销售给双汇集团二台CM-800a出现问题,客户在85℃高温条件下检测浓缩骨头汤汁的浓度,浓缩浓度从28%~55%,仪器安装完成后现场测试数据非常不稳定,客户提出了退货要求,随后我出差一周时间在客户现场了解安装方式和测试过程,发现主要是因为浓缩过程中骨头汤有一些油脂以及一些杂质,所以很容易附着在棱镜上导致检测是数据跳动比较大,CM-800a是在旁路安装,而且旁路安装的管道跟主管道直径相差不大,导致样品在输送过程中不容易流动,容易在仪器检测点沉积,随后我们加以改进:把原有的旁路安装全部切割掉,改为主管道倾斜角度安装,借助客户现有的CIP清洗能很好的清理棱镜,随后安装测试观察二天数据比较稳定,达到了客户的使用要求。
心得:只有不断的通过案例累积经验才能更好的服务客户。

2018年春节期间,国内做天丝的领军企业技术部长微信留言“需要节后做技术交流”,春节假期后上班火车票很难买到,为了应客户要求,接到客户留言就不断的刷火车票,终于买到了车票,也如期的做了技术交流,客户对于及时上门交流很满意,我也学习了解到了一些关于天丝用我们设备检测的意义以及这种产品的行业前景,就是有了这次交流,我了解到了关于生产天丝客户购买的潜在需求,并在区域内找到同行业客户进行针对性专业的推广,现场讲解就获得了客户的高度认可,不久就取得了客户的订单。这件事让我体会到了,第一时间的售前服务以及深入了解行业客户应用对于销售的重要性。
